Scotch tape finds new use as grasping 'smart material'

This is older news, but still really neat: Scotch tape finds new use as grasping 'smart material'. The tape curls when exposed to humidity and straightens when it dries. It could be used to collect water droplets. If the surface is functionalized (for example, with magnetic beads), it could be used to collect more-specific watery substances. From Purdue U.
