A plug for a project I’m honored to be involved in:
The Briefing is reader-centered news service aimed at people who want to know about important new developments happening across applied science, engineering, and technology. We curate the best articles across the web, and then commission experts to write the stories that haven’t yet been covered.
The new website is at http://the-briefing.com
Two really great things about it, from a reader’s viewpoint, is that you can set your profile to search for just the areas of interest, and you won’t see a zillion copies or near-copies of the same press-release because an actual knowledgeable human has bothered to go through and pick out the best version of a story.
Two great things about it from my viewpoint as the Physical Sciences sector editor is that I work with a fantastic crew of competent, smart people and because when I see a news hole, I have the power to go find an expert in the field to fill it. We commission original articles.
If you want to get involved, we also commission book reviews and invite readers to contribute stories we may have missed.
