Speech is incredibly important to quality of life. When my grandmother had a stroke, one of the most frustrating issues in the early days was her inability to speak intelligibly.

Researchers at Washington University School of Medicine are developing brain-computer interfaces that has shown the ability to distinguish between the user thinking about different vowel sounds.¬† It’s really interesting work.

Technique for letting brain talk to computers now tunes in speech.
